The Ultimate Smoothie...
Nutribullet has become one of those staple items in the kitchen. It is quick, clean, and extremely beneficial. The best part is that you can make a few at once, and store them for the whole week. Today I will be sharing my favorite ingredients for the yummiest and healthiest smoothie.
* FYI : I like to put everything I can find into my smoothie, making it the Ultimate Smoothie.
- 1 1/2 cups of green leafs (mix of kale, spinach, and chard)
- 2 cups of frozen antioxidant fruit: cherries, pomegranate, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries.
- 1 peeled orange
- 1/2 green apple
- 1/2 red apple
- 4 tablespoons of Yoplait strawberry yogurt
- 1 teaspoon of organic raspberry preserve
- 1/2 a pouch of Acai berry Superfruit pack (Costco)
- 1/2 banana
- 1 - 1 1/2 tablespoon of chia seeds
- 1 - 1 1/2 tablespoon of flax seeds
Blend and Enjoy!
** The smaller cup gets about 1/2 these portions.

#Curlyhairdon'tcare : A guide to managing curly hair

Volumax Gel + straightened bottoms.
After years of trying dozens of products and methods, I finally discovered these top few products.
Volumax: Volumizing style gel. (about $10 for 34 oz. at +SallysBeauty )
This is the best gel for curly hair. My secret is to apply it while your hair is still wet. I recommend to apply it in the shower, since it can get a little messy. Once you wash and condition your hair, try to squeeze all the water out. Divide your hair into half, and apply a palm full of gel on each side. I like to apply it from about an inch away from the scalp and run it all the way through to the ends. Make sure the gel is evenly spread by tilting your head and hair forward and running your fingers through it one last time. Next, securely tie a towel around your head and let your hair towel dry for about 20-30 mins. At last, make sure you let your hair air dry! Do not dry with blow dryer, or your hair will get frizzy. These methods help the gel settle into your hair naturally, and once it is dry (you can run your fingers through your hair to add more volume) it will seem as though your hair is naturally and perfectly curly. *picture aboveMacadamia Natural Oil : Reviving Curl Cream - (most drugstores and salons carry. I bought mine from Marshall's!)
- I am a huge fan of this product. When I am in a rush, I apply about a palm full to my hair. I again apply this to wet hair, and run the product through with my fingers. I don't like using a comb since it removes the product from the hair. I then massage a small amount to only my ends, since this oil helps nourish and 'revive' your hair. Your curls will dry naturally and frizz free. If you need to blow dry your hair, make sure the strength is on low and lightly dry your hair from the top.
The Curling Wand and straightener:
- The curling wands is my favorite tool when my hair is completely uncooperative. Some days my curls are just unmanageable and no product seems to fix its appearance. This is when the curling wand becomes my savior. I choose a few strands of hair from the most noticeable areas, especially those around the face. The diagram highlights the areas which make the biggest change.

Areas that need most attention
- I use a straightener most of the time. The worst area for curly hair are the ends. They are what cause the uneasy resting of the hair and even some puffiness. I like to straighten no more than 1/2" of the roots. This definitely helps the hair relax a little, and gives a much nicer look.

Go the Espadrille Way!
Go the Espadrille Way!
For years I have searched to find the perfect pair of flats. Ones that are fashionable, easy to match, and most importantly comfortable! After going through more than a dozen pairs, I remained hopeless. All of them made my toes cringe, my heels bleed, and my feet tired. I even invested in the #Skechers go walk shoes, which unfortunately were not to my pleasing. It was not until one day when my friend raved of the new espadrilles she got. I had never invested in a pair and the rope looking soles felt strange. My budget doesn't cover the famous #Chanel #espadrilles, so I took my options elsewhere. After coming across a collection of espadrilles in #Bloomingdale's, I decided to try out a pair of the canvas color-block #Tory Burch's. It took only minutes for me to fall in love with these shoes. They are the most comfortable flats I have ever worn. I literally wear them all day every day. I highly recommend wearing them a few times with thin cotton no-show socks. This helps the shoe's sole open up without hurting your feet. They are also a great investment! Fashionably speaking, you can wear them for spring, summer and fall!

Time to feast!
Time to feast!
Thanksgiving dinner is mostly spent at home with family, or a quiet night out to town. Best part of dressing for the holiday? Your outfits can be warm and cozy with just a touch of glam. I've put together my favorite outfit inspirations for tonight!

Vintage Fendi dress. BCBGeneration coat.
Every year when fall comes around, LA natives quickly pull out our boots, coats, and sweaters that are tucked deep into our closets. We are so excited to get into the spirit of #fallfashion. Fortunately or unfortunately, our dreams and hopes are crushed by the continuous 80 degree weather. Dressing up for this transitional and unexplainable weather becomes a tad bit difficult. We cannot re-wear our summer beach tanks and shorts or cashmere sweaters. I've learned the best way to style and yet be cool and comfortable is by mixing your spring and fall clothing.

Bejeweled
+Tory Burch gold dipped chain necklaces. Statement necklace from +Nordstrom Rack
As you all know, I love collecting jewelery whether its vintage, designer, old or new. What makes me happiest is when I find exquisite pieces at bargain prices. My go to places are estate/garage sales, Nordstrom Rack, and of course the downtown jewelry district. Nowadays, going to Downtown is a full day's commitment, so plan accordingly! +Nordstrom Rack surprisingly has an amazing collection of contemporary jewelery for great prices. You will never know what you'll stumble upon at estate/garage sales. My advice is to be patient and try to find key unique pieces that are worth being purchased second-hand. After purchasing your items, make sure you sanitize your jewelry with some rubbing alcohol.
I recently discovered this site that helps you locate nearby estate/garage sales.
